LINCOLN  Neb, — The Lincoln Police Department dealt with multiple case of auto related theft between June 19 and 20.

LPD reported three auto thefts and two larcenies from an auto vehicle.

The report stated on June 20 at 6:23 a.m., officers were sent to the 600 block of West S Street for a report of a hit and run.

Authorities said the arriving officers found a 2006 red GMC Envoy, an estimated value of $2,000, unoccupied with heavy front-end damage and an open liquor bottle in the passenger floorboard.

Officials said area witnesses gave a description of a party observed fleeing from the vehicle on foot.

LPD said that later that morning at 7:41 a.m., that same vehicle was reported stolen from the owner.

The report said officers continued to check the area and the  located a 17-year-old male who matched the previous description from witnesses, near W S Street and Northwest 9th. 

Officers said the male was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. 

Authorities said the man was housed in the Youth Assessment Center and referred for theft by receiving, minor in possession and providing false information.

The report said that officers were sent to the 2400 block of North 87th for an auto theft.

LPD said the victim reported their 2022 blue Hyundai Santa Cruz, an estimated value of $34,500, was stolen during the overnight hours of June 19 and 20.

Officers said the vehicle was found totaled in a drainage ditch near North 68th and Gladstone at 11:30 p.m. on June 20.

Authorities said the victim reported the vehicle was locked and they have a the key fob for it. The investigation is ongoing.

LPD said officers were dispatched to the 8600 of Lexington in reference to an auto theft.

Officials said the victim reported their 2021 red Chrysler van, an estimated value of $9,000, was taken from their apartment building during the overnight hours of June 19 and 20.

The report said the vehicle was unlocked with the spare key console, the vehicle has not yet been recovered.

LPD said officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of North 72nd for a report of a larceny from a vehicle.

Authorities said the victim reported unknown person(s) entered their unlocked 2015 Toyota minivan parked in the driveway during the overnight hour of June 19 and 20.

Officers said a Springfield XD 9mm was taken from the glovebox.

Officials said there was also entry made into the detached, unlocked where various golf and stereo items were taken totaling $3,910.

eny from a vehicle.

LPD said the victim reported their 2022 Kia Telluride was parked in their driveway unlocked when an unknown person(s) entered and removed $16 of misc. items.
